Stillwater Nova Scotia

Stillwater was the home of the Whidden branch of the family from which came Harriet Susanna Whidden, who married George Aaron Nichols Sr. (of Inverness County, NS) and then came with him and their eldest children to settle in Newfoundland in what became known as Nicholsville. They were married in the Baptist Church of Melrose (see below), in Nova Scotia.

Stillwater is in Guysborough County (see map below), on the mid sw shore of Nova Scotia. It's population is 79, and it is located 5 km (3 mi.) beyond Sherbrooke on Route 7. The Marine Drive, Route 211, right, leads to Isaac's Harbour (pop.114) through Stillwater Lake, Jordanville (pop. 60), Indian Harbour Lake (pop. 122), Port Hilford (pop. 60) and Port Bickerton (pop.282).
